貓和老鼠本來是好朋友。有一天，動物們決定要經由跑步比賽來決定十二生肖的順序，結果跑到河邊的時候，老鼠和貓都不會游泳，於是他它們就拜託牛載他們過河，然後，老鼠和貓爬到牛的背上。但才過到河的一半，老鼠就把貓推到河裡面，等快到終點站的時候，老鼠就跳到河岸上，衝過終點，於是老鼠就第一名，牛則成了第二名。
